Sultan Hasanuddin

0 komentar

Lahir : Makassar, 12 Januari 1631

Wafat : Makassar, 12 Juni 1670

Makam : Makassar

Untuk menghormati jasa-jasa Sultan Hasanuddin, berdasarkan Surat Keputusan Presiden RI No. 087/TK/1973, Pemerintah menganugerahkan gelar pahlawan nasional kepadanya.

Balla Lompoa

Selayang PandangBalla Lompoa

When Bad Things Happen to Good Business Owners and Entrepreneurs by: Michele Pariza Wacek

0 komentar
It's an unfortunate fact of life (and business). Out of the blue you get a nasty email from someone. Sometimes it's about an article you've written. Sometimes it's accompanied by a refund request. Sometimes it doesn't seem like it's tied to anything at all.

Or maybe you discover someone writing malicious things about you on a blog or a forum. Or maybe some other negative things suddenly start getting tweeted or posted to Facebook about you, your products or your business.

Stuff happens. As a business owner and entrepreneur, the more successful you become, the more you open yourself up to criticism, negative feedback or just plain being attacked.

As someone who is both a writer AND a business owner, I know all about what happens when you're dealing with unwelcome criticism. (I write fiction so yes, I've dealt with my share of negative feedback.) But if this is something new for you, or even if it's not new but you're feeling like you've just been sucker-punched by something out of the blue, I thought I'd share a few insights to help you get through it.

1. Know you're not alone. We've ALL been there. And I mean exactly that. It doesn't matter how small or big your business is, stuff like this is going to happen. So know that no matter what just happened to you, there are a lot of entrepreneurs and business owners out there who will both sympathize and emphasize.

2. See it for what it is. All criticism is not created equally. Sometimes what someone is saying has absolutely nothing to do with you and everything to do with their own issues. Sometimes they have a legitimate complaint but the person is so unhappy with their own life they blow it completely out of portion because they just want to strike out at someone and you're the one they picked.

And sometimes they have a legitimate beef AND they handled it fine, but you just didn't want to hear it. An example of this is some of the criticism I've gotten from some of my stories. The people were thoughtful and absolutely right. And I hated them. (Until I got over myself and slunk back to the keyboard to make the edits.)

Now the third option doesn't happen too often (unless you're a fiction writer) but the first two do. You just have to see it for what it is. If there's something buried in the anger and name-calling you can use to improve your products, services or business, by all means use it. But know the rest of it has absolutely nothing to do with you and everything to do with them.

(And you'll know when the criticism is right. Trust me. Your gut will tell you.)

3. Be kind to yourself. When these things happen, it can hurt. And that's okay. Call a friend. Or better yet, your mother (if you can). Write about it in your journal. Take a walk. Don't bury your feelings, let yourself feel bad and then let it go. Don't tell yourself it doesn't matter and let it fester inside you, deal with it. Get it out of you. And then let it go.

4. Let someone else deal with these things. Whenever possible, have someone else in your business be a filter for stuff like this. Let other people take care of refund requests or just read the nasty emails and they can decide if there's a legitimate complaint buried in there or not. Protect yourself, there's no need for you to see everything or deal with everything. Yes you'll have to step in if something big happens, but let other people take care of the small stuff. The small stuff is what wears you down anyway. Save yourself for the big things and don't worry about the rest.

Business Loans - Everything You Need to Know About Business Loans by: BMA Editorial Team A

4 komentar
Acquiring business loans is an essential part of running any kind of business, whether it's a small business or a giant corporation.

Small businesses especially need loans, as they can mean the difference between staying open for business or having to close up shop.

A loan will provide a business with funds in order to run its day to day operation. Without a loan, a business may not be able to pay its employees, buy any necessary supplies or equipment, in addition to numerous other things a business will need to pay for.

There are several things a business can do to insure that it will get a loan.

The number one reason why financial institutions will turn down a small business for business loans is due to risk assessment. A bank will look at a number of factors to determine how likely a business will or will not be able to return the money it has borrowed.

After evaluation, if a business looks like it will be able to repay the loan, it is considered a low risk, and will most likely get the loan. If a business looks like it will have difficulties in repaying the loan, then it is considered a high risk, and will likely not be given a loan.

When determining the risk of a business applying for business loans, the main thing a bank will analyse is a business plan. A lender will look at many other things including credit history of the person applying for the loan, experience, education, and feasibility, but a business plan is the most important factor looked at. Assessing the risk of a business is the best way for a bank or other lending institution to determine if they are making a good judgment in giving out a loan. A business plan is a way to answer many of the questions a lender will have about giving out a loan.

Having a business plan will show a lender how much money will be needed in business loans. A start-up business needs to include its initial capital. Another thing a business plan shows is how each dollar will be spent. A business plan should also tell when and how the loan will be repaid. The bank will need to be convinced that a business will be profitable enough to repay the loan. And finally, a business should discuss what its plans are should it not get the loan. This will help show confidence and that not getting a loan will not keep a business from moving forward.

Career Planning: How to Discover Your Dream Job by: Lynda-Ross Vega

0 komentar
When you were a kid, what did you dream of growing up to be?

This may sound obvious, but before you can find the career you really want, you have to know what you are seeking. Career planning is a delicate process. The work we do, as well as where we do it (our work environment), have a huge impact on our ability to experience life and career success.
Too often when asked to define an ideal career, people think immediately about salary and benefits. As a result, there are plenty of people who earn a great living with exceptional benefits, but hate their jobs and are very unhappy.

A job you really want can't be based on financial criteria alone. And, with a few exceptions, the industry is often not as important as the actual day-to-day activities. If a "great" job does not allow you the opportunity to do what you love and nurture your natural talents, it is probably not the ideal job for you.
Understanding and discovering natural talents is an important key to a successful job search. Finding our talents helps us uncover those things that we love and enjoy, and nurturing those at which we excel. Discovering our talents also helps us figure out the areas where we do not excel - the things that make us unhappy and leave us feeling unfulfilled. When you waste your natural abilities you often end up stuck doing something you hate. It is important to weed out those skills you dislike and find out what it is you really love.

Effective career planning means figuring out the specific criteria and values you want the job to fulfill. By this we mean it is important to consider those daily activities that are going to make the best use of your natural skills and talents? Consider this:

• If you are an outgoing person and a job isolates you from interacting with other people all day, it is not for you.

• If you are orderly and find yourself in a work environment that is chaotic, you will wear out over time.

• If you work well with only occasional supervision, a job where you're micromanaged will be annoying.

Knowing who you are is key to finding the right job for you. Ask yourself some self-reflective questions. Define the criteria that make up your "perfect" job. What's important to you in the work you do? What brings you satisfaction? What expectations do you have for work-life balance? What natural skills and talents do you have?

You'll also want to consider the answers to questions like:

• Part-time or full-time?

• Flexibility or consistency (both in hours and tasks)?

• Amount of interaction with others?

• Specific skills you want to use?

• Travel?

• Do you like to make decisions or follow procedure?

Answering these questions is the first step in finding the path that will lead you to ultimate career satisfaction. When we are doing what we love, we are often performing at our best. This leads to a kind of fulfillment that allows us to live life passionately and happily.
